2016. XII. 27. Dr. Szeszák, Hajdú-Bihar megye főügyésze egy az országba belépő hatalmas olajvonatot próbált leállítani, amelynek bűnszervezetében mindenki benne volt: a határőrség, a vám- és pénzügyőrség, a rendőrség stb.! A politikai maffia a végül 66 szerelvény hosszú olajvonatot minden törvényekkel ellentétben mozgatta az országon tovább és vették le állomásról állomásra a maffia tagjai a részükre behozott olajat. Miután Szeszák, megyei főügyész megpróbálta megállítani a maffiavonatot, Györgyi legfőbb ügyész, Solt, a Legfelsőbb Bíróság elnöke,Pintér akkori országos rendőrfőkapitány személyesen jártak el és mindent megmozgattak, hogy a politikai maffia eme bukott vonata és elkövetői is maradéktalanul mentesüljenek. Szeszáknak köszönhetően az olajmaffia hirtelen nyilvánossá vált és kiderült: a legfelsőbb állami és gazságügyi vezetés is benne van! Szeszák túlélte. 2016. XII. 24.  A magyarok nem tudják feladni. Hogy mi az oka a minket, illetve a közép-európai népeket érő diszkriminációnak? Miért van ez kapcsolatban a múlttal? Mert keletinek tartják, s lenézik mindazt, ami nem nyugaton történik s ennek a gyökerei régi időkre nyúlnak vissza. Feltehetően 1943.-ban Teheránban átadta Roosevelt Sztálinnak a Stettin–Trieszt-vonaltól keletre eső területeket. Nem értik azokat az országokat, amelyek a szovjet uralom alatt érzékennyé lettek a diktatúrákra és védelmi reflexként a nemzeti jelleg erősítésével válaszoltak. Nyugaton eközben megteremtettek egy hazug, önigazoló történelmi paradigmát, legendát, amelyben minket kivéve szinte mindenki győztes hatalom lehetett a második világháborúban, még a kollaboráns franciák is. Fölépítettek egy hamis, elgyávult, nihilista és cinikus világot, amelynek még a védelméről sem ők gondoskodtak, hanem az Egyesült Államok. A Nyugat alkonya egyértelművé vált. Az európai omlástudat, dekadencia ezalatt kitermelt egy olyan réteget, amely nagyképűen demokratának és liberálisnak állítja be magát. Megszületett az az embertípus, amely – akárcsak tejtestvére, a kommunizmus – megveti a nemzeti kötődést, a család eszményét, a hagyományos, zsidó–keresztény világnézetet, a tisztességet, a munka becsületét. Létrejött tehát a mai agresszív, intoleráns európai baloldali mentalitás, amely a normalitás helyett az extravaganciának, a devianciának ad több jogot és üldöz mindenkit, aki a konzervatív polgári értékrendet vallja. Ezért szomorúan logikus, hogy a menekültügynek hívott illegális bevándorlást támogatják, mivel segít lerombolni azt a világot, amelyet veszélyesnek tartanak saját dominanciájukra nézve. Szerencsére egy új szellemiség is megjelent a sehová sem tartozó gyűlölködő attitűd, életszemlélet ellenében. Ennek a megnyilvánulása az amerikai elnökválasztás, ám jelei már tapasztalhatóak az ébredező Európában is. Mi lehet mindebben az euroatlanti újjáéledésben a szerepünk? Milyenek a kilátásaink? A gazdaság állapota egyre jobb, az elindított folyamatok beérnek, az emberek pedig érzékelik, hogy a mostani konzervatív kabinettel szemben nincs komolyan vehető, kormányképes, felelős ellenzék. Mindez alapot teremt arra, hogy a nemzet felemelkedjen, szép eredményeket érjen el. Egyúttal meg kell teremteni a méltányosság, a tisztesség újjászülető kultuszát. Kiemelt feladat hárul mindebben a hangsúlyt a nevelésre helyező oktatásra, hiszen a nemzet sorsa az új generációkon múlik. A magyarságnak van egy olyan sajátossága, hogy nem tudja feladni. Ennek köszönhetjük, hogy történelmünk során a legnagyobb megpróbáltatásokat is túléltük. Itt az ideje, hogy az évtizedek óta kívülről ránk erőltetett önvádnak véget vessünk és az ország jövőjére koncentráljunk. Szijjártó külügyminiszter azt mondta, hogy az Egyesült Államok a magyar belügyekbe akart avatkozni, ezért kiabáltak egymással Nuland külügyi államtitkárral, a távozó Colleen Bell nagykövetnek viszont kitüntetést adnak. Soros az Orbán-kormányt meg akarja buktatni, és erre pénzt is áldoz – állítja a külgazdasági és külügyminiszter, aki megerősítette: Orbán Viktor jövőre elmegy a Fehér Házba, Putyin pedig Budapestre jön.    "Ön nem hagyta magát számon kérni?    Dehogy hagytam magam, nekem nem Nulandnak kell számot adnom. Az első alkalommal, amikor találkoztunk, egy kétoldalas dokumentumot dobott le elém az asztalra, és közölte, hogyha ezeken a dolgokon változtatunk, akkor van remény arra, hogy a kétoldalú kapcsolatokat javítsuk. Na most, ezen a papapíron olyan elvárások voltak, amikhez az Egyesült Államoknak semmi köze nincs. Hogy Magyarországon milyen belső jogi szabályozások vannak, akár az Alkotmánybíróságra, akár a médiára, akár a választásra vonatkozólag. Ehhez az Egyesült Államoknak pont semmi köze sincs. Mi az Európai Unió tagállama vagyunk, és van saját jogrendünk. A vitás kérdéseket az EU-n belül rendeztük, és lezártuk.    Ezt Ön a magyar belügyekbe való beavatkozásnak tekintette?     Igen. Később telefonon is beszéltünk nagyon emelt hangon. Ez még akkor volt, amikor Goodfriend úr kapcsán kértük azt, hogy az ügyészség meghallgathassa őt. Akkor ezt Nuland nagyon kikérte magának. Ő azt mondta, hogy mindig meg fogja védeni az embereit. Mondtam, én is pont ezt teszem. Egyszer még találkoztunk Dubrovnikban, ahol egy hosszú, másfél órás megbeszélésünk volt nagyon rossz hangulatban, nagyon határozottan, emelt hangon beszéltünk egymással. Én kikértem magamnak azt, hogy ő folyamatosan vádolja Magyarországot, sötét színben tünteti fel, gátlástalan rágalmakat fogalmaz meg velünk szemben, miközben egyetlen konkrétumot sem mond. Később egyszer jelezték, hogy ő szívesen találkozna velem, de azt már visszautasítottam. Azt mondtam, hogy szerintem semmi értelme ennek. Tehát igen, nagyon rossz viszony volt köztünk, ez kétségtelen.    Colleen Bellel korrekt volt a kapcsolata?    Nagyon. Szerintem neki nagyon sokat köszönhetünk, vele – remélem, nem fecsegek ki semmi olyat, ami neki kellemetlen –, amikor életünkben először találkoztunk, hosszasan beszélgettünk, nagyon hosszasan. Akkor a végén arra a konklúzióra jutottunk, amit ő mondott ki, hogy szerinte „le kell csavarni a hangerőt”. Az elmúlt két esztendőben, nagyjából amióta itt van, ezt tényleg profin meg is oldotta. Ha nem ő lett volna az amerikai nagykövet, akkor a mostaninál sokkal rosszabb magyar-amerikai viszony alakult volna ki, aminek aztán már lehetett volna kihatása mind a védelmi, mind a gazdasági együttműködésünkre. Ő viszont azért jött ide, hogy a magyar-amerikai kapcsolatrendszert javítsa. És ő ezt, a saját maga elhatározását, végre is hajtotta. Tehát szerintem neki nagyon sokat köszönhetünk. Ezért én azt javasoltam, hogy kapjon egy komoly kitüntetést mielőtt távozik.    Olyan híreket is lehet hallani diplomáciai forrásokból, hogy egy Trump-rokon lehet az új nagykövet.   Nem tudjuk, hallunk mindenfélét. Bárki jön, tisztelettel fogjuk fogadni. Ez az amerikaiak dolga. Gyorsan meg fogja kapni az agreement természetesen, és nagyon fogunk örülni annak, hogy majd együtt dolgozhatunk. Azt pedig, ha a Trump-adminisztráció valóban figyelmet fordít a magyar-amerikai kapcsolatok javítására, örömmel fogjuk venni, és rajtunk természetesen nem fog múlni. (Forrás: ATv)

Dec 21, 2016  According to the FCO (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) there is a high threat of terrorism in France, Belgium, Germany, Russia and Turkey. The FCO advise against all but essential travel to the following areas of Turkey: Sirnak, Mardin, Sanlirufa, Gaziantep, Diyarbakir, Kilis and Hatay. The FCO wrote on their website that there are “ongoing threats to France by Islamist terrorist groups” and the country has extended its national state of emergency until January 2017. The terror warning comes after anti-terror police thwarted an imminent attack, which could have killed hundreds of people in Paris. Four men were arrested in Strasbourg, eastern France and two in Marseille after police spotted some of the suspects waiting for what appeared to be delivery of weapons in Strasbourg. 2016. XII. 25. Lengyelország a múlt héten sikeresen bocsátotta ki a világ első zöld államkötvényét. A bevont forrásokból környezetvédelmi beruházásokat finanszíroz majd a lengyel állam, a legnagyobb vásárlók osztrák és német befektetők voltak. A lengyel államnak összesen 750 millió euro értékben sikerült eladnia a kötvényekből, ami jóval magasabb az eredetileg tervezett 500 millió euros mennyiségnél. Összesen 1,5 milliárd euronyi kötvény megvásárlására érkezett ajánlat. A kötvények futamideje öt év, hozamuk 48 bázisponttal haladja meg az irányadó ötéves lengyel államkötvények hozamát, ami alacsonyabb az eredetileg tervezett 60 bázispontnál. Az ország elsődleges energiaszükségletének mintegy 55 százaléka, az áramtermelés 92 százaléka szén alapú. (2016. XII.) Egy kis faluban pár ezer euro, járási központban 10 ezer, városban 20–30 ezer, Bukarestben pedig az 50 ezer euro-t is eléri egy megüresedett ortodox parókia ára. Magyar határ melletti megyében szolgáló egyik ortodox 40 ezer eurót perkált le azért, hogy a teológián frissen végzett fiát gazdag és sok faluval övezett járási központi parókiába nevezze ki a püspökség. A parókiabizniszre a Román Ortodox Egyház (BOR) kebelén belül folyó papi üzletelésre az idén felfigyelt a Kövesi vezette Korrupcióellenes Ügyészség (DNA) is, amelynek volt bátorsága nekimenni bihari és dobrudzsai püspökségeknek. Sofronie nagyváradi ortodox püspökségén és Sofronie több lakásában, valamint a vád szerint vele szövetkező Tarau uralta vaskohaszódi kolostorban a DNA szeptemberben házkutatást tartott. A két legfőbb vád Sofronie ellen - aki úgynevezett törvényszéki felügyelet alatt áll - kenőpénz elfogadása és bűnszervezet létrehozása. Amióta Daniel pátriárka lépett a moldvai érseki tisztségből a BOR élére, az idősebb és fiatalabb ortodox papok egyelőre inkább csak maguk között, de egyre hangosabban lázadnak a BOR ellen, mert az szerintük kufárokká zülleszti őket. Nem véletlenül erőlteti az egyház a templomépítést sem, hiszen mindegyik újabb potenciális bevételszerző hely. Az 1989-es rendszerváltás óta Romániában 3200 új ortodox templomot szenteltek fel, és legalább kétezer építése folyik rövidebb-hosszabb ideje. A helyi és megyei tanácsok kénytelenek évente hatalmas összegekkel támogatni a templomépítéseket, illetve -javításokat, ellenkező esetben a dühös pap bosszúja miatt voksokat veszítenének a helyhatósági választásokon. A pénzügyminisztérium honlapja szerint a BOR 2015-öt 16,9 millió lej (1 lej = 66 forint) profittal zárta. De jól teljesített a zarándokút-szervezési monopóliumra törekvő, szintén a BOR-hoz tartozó Basilica Travel is a maga 4,2 millió lejes nyereségével. Az érsekségek közül a moldvai az első, 2,9 millió lej profittal. Méregdrágán kell megvásárolni – lehetőleg előre fizetve – a püspökségek által leosztott és kiszállított gyertyákat, gyertyatartókat, könyveket, naptárakat, ikonokat, emléktárgyakat és bort. Emellett havi hozzájárulást kötelesek fizetni az egyháznak, illetve a tervezett bukaresti megatemplom építésére. Így aztán érthető, hogy a rendszer nyomásának engedelmeskedve az ortodox papok visszautasítják a hívek által a szupermarketből hozott gyertyát, és az egyházi szolgáltatást igénylőkre rátukmálják a kegytárgyakat és könyveket. Csakhogy a fáma szerint a felvett banki hitelt legfeljebb öt év alatt könnyedén törlesztik a bevételekből, és utána a parókia már hasznot is hoz. Egy vidéki parókia számára évi több millió forintnak megfelelő bevételt hoznak csupán a keresztelők, esküvők és halotti megemlékezések, a gyertyaárusítás és a januári házszentelések. Az ortodox pap a falvakban hívatlanul is bekopog szentelni, a tarifa átlagosan 10 ezer forintnak megfelelő lej. Így könnyen kiszámítható, mit kaszál a parókia – számla nélkül – az év első hónapjában egy csupán 500 portából álló faluban is. A piaci igényekhez igazodva pedig a papok újabban a személyautótól a nagy képernyős tévén át a mezőn legelésző állatokig bármit megszentelnek, persze nem ingyen. Falun pedig a szokás hamar elterjed, hiszen senki sem akar lemaradni a szomszédjától, netán kevésbé ájtatosnak mutatkozni. A feszített üzleti tempóba sokan belefáradnak, az adósságban fulladozók pedig néha szélsőséges módszereket választanak a túlélésre és pénzgyűjtésre. A Tomis püspökség például 19 papot rúgott ki az egyházból, amiért azok kábítószerrel kereskedtek, a családjuktól a barátnőjükhöz költöztek, fegyvert viseltek, vagy éppen orvosságoktól bódultan miséztek. Neamt megyében kitaszított papok megalakították a BOR-tól függetlenül működő, szintén ortodox Moldovlahiai Érsekséget. A pénz legalább helyben marad. (Forrás: hvg)

2016. XII. 21. A tatár származású Shhaideh a romániai miniszterelnök jelölt. 1964. december 4-én született Konstancán. 1987-ben szerzett egyetemi diplomát a bukaresti Közgazdasági Egyetemen. Shhaideh előbb államtitkárként dolgozott a Dragnea vezette fejlesztési minisztériumban, majd a PSD-elnök lemondása után átvette a tárca vezetését. Ő volt az első miniszter, aki nem a Bibliára, hanem a Koránra esküdött fel mandátuma kezdetén. Kétszer ment férjhez, második esküvőjén Dragnea volt a tanú. A minisztérium honlapjára feltöltött utolsó vagyonnyilatkozata szerint egy konstancai és három szíriai lakás tulajdonosa, bankszámlái betéteinek értéke 423.817, illetve 167.004 lej, 20.000 euró értékben adott személyes kölcsönt és 60.000 lejes hitele van. Dec 26, 2016 All 84 passengers and eight crew members on the Russian military's Tu-154 plane are believed to have died when it crashed two minutes after taking off from the southern city of Sochi. The passengers included dozens of singers in Russia's world-famous military choir, nine Russian journalists and a Russian doctor known for her charity work in war zones.  Experts estimated the Tu-154 crash site at 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) from the shore. Several aviation experts noted factors that could suggest a terror attack, such as the crew's failure to report any malfunction and the fact that debris from the plane was scattered over a wide area. Friday, 23 12 2016   Blundering German police today said they believed the Tunisian asylum seeker was still in or around Berlin just before he was shot dead almost 1,000 miles away in Milan. Berlin truck terrorist Amri has been shot dead after a gunfight with police in Milan in the early hours of this morning. isis has released a selfie-style video in which Amri pledges his allegiance to the terror group and vows to slaughter 'infidels'. On Amri's body police found a train ticket that helped reconstruct the attacker's movements in Berlin, revealing how he took a train from Chambery in France and then from Turin to Milan. But it is not clear whether he had driven from Berlin to Chambery or taken a 1,000-mile train trip all the way to Milan via Frankfurt - the normal rail route to the south of France. Authorities believe Amri, who used at least six different aliases with three nationalities, was trying to flee to southern Italy  where he had entered Europe in 2011 when he dodged prison in his native Tunisia after fleeing following a violent robbery. He was jailed for five years in absentia. He arrived in Italy in 2011, arriving on the small island of Lampedusa amongst thousands of people fleeing the Arab Spring uprisings. He pretended to be a child migrant - even though he was 19 - but then rioted inside his detention centre, which was set on fire. He was then jailed for four years, serving it in two prisons on Sicily. After his release Italy failed to deport him twice because Tunisia refused to take him back and he fled Italy via the Alps for Germany, meaning he probably went via Milan. He entered Germany posing as a Syrian refugee. Despite being arrested three times this year, deportation papers were never served. Amri was identified after his wallet was found in the cab of the vehicle, but the German police were slammed as to how this took so long to find, with many critics saying it was 'too convenient' as it had not been found sooner. His fingerprints were found on the steering wheel of the stolen vehicle. German authorities offered a 100,000 euro reward for information leading to his capture - but for 12 hours his face was blurred because of their privacy rules. The European arrest warrant was issued 30 hours after the terror attack, Amri had plenty of time to leave the country. The brainwashed 24-year-old went on to slaughter 11 revellers enjoying a Christmas market in the heart of Berlin. Draconian German privacy rules mean filming in public places is largely prohibited - and this year politicians blocked attempts to install cameras on Berlin's main squares. Amaq had earlier said the man shot dead by Italian police near Milan on Friday carried out the Berlin attack. Releasing suicide videos of terror attackers after their deaths is a common tactic by isis. And what is Schengen? The Schengen Area is a zone covering 26 European states that have officially abolished passport checks at their mutual borders. The area mostly functions as a single country for international travel purposes with a common visa policy. The policy is named after the Schengen Agreement struck in 1985. 31 Dec 2016  China's launches global 'soft power' media network to extend influence. China Central Television (CCTV), Beijing's largest and most important TV network, said it will launch a new global media platform at the stroke of New Year's Day to help re-brand China overseas. The multilingual media cluster will have six TV channels, a video newsletter agency and a new media agency and will see the original CCTV News channel renamed as China Global Television Network. December 30, 2016  India cracks down on slaughter of sacred cows. Hindus make up 80% of India’s more than 1.2 billion citizens. Imposing a maximum prison sentence of 10 years for slaughtering a cow and five years for selling the meat, the state of Haryana’s legislation is in line with Prime Minister  Modi and his ruling Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party’s crackdown on beef consumption. Since his election in 2014, Modi has stressed the importance of Hinduism to India’s identity. December 29, 2016  The number of Palestinians living in Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip is expected to rise to equal the number of Jews in the same area by the end of 2017, at 6.58 million, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics claimed in figures it released. Citing an Israel Central Bureau of Statistics report, the PCBS put the number of Jewish Israelis at the end of 2015 at 6.33 million, with a prediction that figure would reach 6.45 million by the end of 2016. The total Palestinian population in the world: 12.7 million, the report said. There are 1.53 million in Israel (12%), 5.26 million in Arab countries (44%) and 696,000 in other foreign countries (5.5%).  In total, there were 2,972,069 Palestinian living in the West Bank — including 431,866 in Jerusalem, and another 1,912,267 in the Gaza Strip, the PCBS assessed. An Israel Central Bureau of Statistics report published in September found that Jews make up close to three-quarters of the Israeli population at 6.4 million residents, while Israel’s almost 1.8 million Arabs make up one-fifth of the population, which totals 8.58 million. Those of other backgrounds, including non-Arab Christians and those not categorized as members of a religious group by the Population, Immigration and Border Authority, make up less than 5% of the population, at 380,000 people. A November report from the ICBS found that fertility rates of Jewish and Arab women were identical for the first time in Israeli history in 2015. Jewish and Arab women had given birth to an average of 3.13 children as of last year, the report said. 2016. XII. 24. A visegrádi négyek magyar elnökségének idején, 2017 második felében Budapestre látogat az izraeli miniszterelnök. Mivel Magyarország a visegrádi együttműködés soros elnöke lesz júliustól, Orbán Viktor a magyar fővárosba hívja a lengyel, a cseh és a szlovák miniszterelnököt. Így Netanjahu Benjamin látogatása idején Budapesten V4-Izrael csúcstalálkozóra is sor kerülhet. December 24, 2016  Turkey moves arms to Syria border. The deployment, including long-range guns and armored personnel carriers, followed Erdogan’s remark that Turkish troops fighting to capture the jihadists’ stronghold of al-Bab in northwest Syria could move first to the town of Manbij and then to Raqqa. Erdogan reiterated his country’s readiness to extend its fight against the jihadist group in Raqqa. Turkey is concerned that Kurdish territorial gains in Syria could lead to a new state there, emboldening the separatist aspirations of its own Kurds. Kurds have established control over much of Syria’s north during five years of violence, and in doing so, emerged as a favored U.S. fighting force in the ground war against islamic state. “We will not allow the formation of a new state in northern Syria,” Erdogan said. December 28, 2016  Latin America is a hotbed of Islamic terrorism where groups like isis and Hezbollah operate freely and raise large sums of money to finance terrorist activities in other countries, mainly the United States. isis is expanding quickly in Latin America. Around 100 individuals from the region’s large Muslim community have traveled to Syria and Iraq to join terrorist groups recently. Argentina and Brazil have the largest Muslim populations in Latin America with more than 1 million each. Venezuela, Mexico, Peru and Chile also have large and rapidly growing Muslim populations. Trinidad and Tobago, Caribbean islands on the northern edge of Latin America, are identified as “especially worrisome” because local authorities reported that 70 of their citizens traveled to Syria and Iraq to join isis. 30  Dec 2016  U.S. Census Bureau estimates that the country’s population will stand at 324.31 million on the first day of 2017. That’s a 2.25 million gain over a year ago. That increase is part of a long-term rise that demographers say will see the United States reach 360.83 million people by 2030 – a gain of 16.87 percent from its 2010 level of 308.75 million, the last time the Census Bureau did a nationwide count. Florida with 25 million residents by 2030 -  this will be an increase of 33 percent over its 2010 population of 18.8 million. Texas will experience an even bigger population surge, reaching 35.18 million by 2030, almost 40 percent above its 2010 level. West Virginia is the only state where the population is expected to decline in the two-decade period. The overall world population is growing at a much faster rate. The United Nations projects it to reach 8.5 billion by 2030, a 23.19 percent increase from its 2010 total of 6.9 billion. Dec 30, 2016  U.S. officials are grappling with a 15 percent surge in illegal immigration, reflecting continued failures by the Obama administration to deter illegal immigration along the country’s southwestern border. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed 352,882 people in detention facilities in fiscal 2016, a sharp rise from 193,951 people placed in detention last year. Homeland Security officials apprehended 530,250 illegal immigrants and sent 450,954 people back to their home countries over the 12-month period that ended in September. Nearly 84 percent of the people removed from the United States in fiscal year 2016 were categorized as Priority 1, which includes ­ “national security threats, convicted felons or ‘aggravated felons,’ criminal gang participants, and illegal entrants apprehended at the border". The majority of those apprehended come from Central American countries and include 137,614 families and unaccompanied children, part of an ongoing flight from high crime and violence in Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. December 29, 2016 Obama said the State Department declared as "persona non grata" 35 Russian intelligence operatives and is closing two Russian compounds in New York and Maryland that were used by Russian personnel for "intelligence-related purposes". The State Department originally said the 35 were diplomats. The move would affect the Russian embassy in Washington and consulate in San Francisco. 12/29/16  The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a 13-page joint report known as a “Joint Analysis Report” or JAR, detailing how federal investigators linked the Russian government to hacks of Democratic Party organizations. The FSB is thought to be behind the hacking group known as APT29. A more traditional, long-range intelligence agency, the FSB lurked on the DNC systems for over a year. The GRU, Russia’s military intelligence service, is thought to be behind the second group that infiltrated the DNC, known as APT28. APT28 is also believed to have breached Podesta’s emails. APT28 is thought to be the group responsible for “doxxing” the DNC and Podesta by allegedly providing the stolen missives to WikiLeaks to publish. But security experts say that the document provides little in the way of forensic "proof" to confirm the government's attribution. The administration is in the process of preparing a more detailed classified review of Russian interference, to be delivered to Congress before Trump takes office on Jan. 20. 12/29/16  A tweet from conservative media icon Drudge appeared to accuse the government of interfering with his website, just hours after the Obama administration announced new sanctions against Russia over election hacking. A large-scale distributed denial of service attack, "biggest DDoS since site's inception. Very suspicious routing [and timing]," the tweet to Drudge's 457,000 followers read. That kind of attack sends a server many illegitimate requests to make it hard for real requests to get through, effectively shutting down the site. The conservative Washington Times wrote: Drudge suggests U.S. government cyberattack on his website. Dec 28, 2016  A man with deadly brain cancer that had spread to his spine saw his tumors shrink and, for a time, completely vanish after a novel treatment to help his immune system attack his disease. Grady was the first person to get the treatment  at City of Hope, a cancer center in Duarte, California,  treatment dripped through a tube into a space in the brain where spinal fluid is made, sending it down the path the cancer traveled to his spine. The idea was to have the flow of the spinal fluid carry the T cells to different locations, along the route the cancer had taken. Enraged Israeli officials call up Trump, who tweets that the United States should veto. Sisi, the president of Egypt, abruptly calls off the vote. At some point during all this, Trump has a phone conversation with Sisi where they chat about jointly solving various issues in the Middle East. Anonymous Israeli officials, essentially siding with the incoming Trump administration, criticize Obama in unusually harsh terms for plotting with the Palestinians to abandon Israel at the United Nations. A day later, Malaysia, New Zealand, Senegal, and Venezuela reintroduce the resolution, which comes to a vote and is adopted by the Security Council, including Egypt, with the United States abstaining. Obama delivers a powerful parting message to Israel’s leaders that is powerfully undercut by Trump’s opening message. “As to the U.N., things will be different after Jan. 20th,” Trump tweets shortly after the vote. December 29, 2016  There's a real nexus between economics and foreign affairs. US is acting as global policeman for financial crimes. Handing out multibillion-dollar fines right and left to domestic and foreign financial giants, the United States has taken on the role of the unforgiving global cop of the business world. In stark contrast to the relative inertia of white-collar law enforcement in Europe, Washington most recently brought the hammer down on Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse, which sold junk-filled, mortgage-backed securities ahead of the 2008 financial meltdown. Deutsche Bank has agreed to a payout of $7.2 billion, while Credit Suisse settled for $5.3 billion. American giants have not been spared: JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America collectively have shelled out $40 billion to settle cases linked to toxic, crisis-era financial products. In the most recent cases, the United States imposed $2.6 billion in criminal penalties on the Brazilian construction conglomerate Odebrecht - most of which will be paid to Brazil - and a half billion on the Israeli generic drugmaker Teva Pharmaceutical. Both matters involved corruption occurring outside the United States. Volkswagen has agreed to pay out more than $15 billion so far, and doubtless will have to pay more before putting the scandal behind it. But the company still could face criminal charges. In the United States, authorities can be supported in their actions by so-called class-action lawsuits brought collectively by groups of private individuals who have been wronged, which can ratchet up pressure on companies. But this option does not exist in Europe. 2016. XII. 22. Luxussal fedik el a szennyet az óceánjárók. Mikor idén májusban kifutott Southampton kikötőjéből a Harmony of Seas (A tengerek harmóniája), a város lakói fellélegeztek. A hajó tulajdonosa, a Royal Caribean International hajózási vállalat propagandája szerint a Harmony of Seas 16 emeletével, 120 ezer tonna vízkiszorításával és 362 méteres hosszúságával, 6780 utasférőhelyével a legnagyobb személyszállító hajó a világon. A méretnek viszont ára van. A hajó víz- és levegőszennyezése felfoghatatlan; két, négy emelet magas, tizenhat hengeres motorja egyenként 5200 liter dízelolajat éget el óránként. Ez azt jelenti, hogy a teljes gőzzel haladó hajó naponta 210 tonnányit használ el a világ egyik legszennyezőbb üzemanyagából. Ez a nehézolaj 3500-szor több ként tartalmaz, mint a közúti forgalomban használt dízelüzemanyag, és a szárazföldön veszélyes hulladékként kellene kezelni. Az ilyen luxushajók annyi kén-dioxidot pufogtatnak ennyi idő alatt a levegőbe, mint 376 millió autó (ez nem elírás), és annyi nitrogén-oxidot eregetnek, mint egy város közúti közlekedése. Nem egyedül álló, hogy tőkeerős árverezők kikiáltási áron szereznek meg nagy birtoktesteket, de az már szembetűnő, hogy ebben a megyében a hivatalosan közzétett tényadatok tanúsága szerint minden 1.000 hektár elárverezett területből 935 hektár így – versenytársak, árverseny és licitálás nélkül – került az árverési nyertesekhez. A megyében is előfordult olyan "árverseny" is, ahol az árverező – az ár szándékos felverése, ezzel az esetlegesen elővásárlási jogukkal élni akarók, helyi gazdacsaládok kiszorítása érdekében – egyedül, önmagára licitált, így a nyertes árajánlat ugyan meghaladta a kikiáltási árat, de ez árversenynek nem, csupán a tőkeerővel való visszaélésnek és a jog megcsúfolásának tekinthető. Minden nyolcadik hektár elárverezett állami földterületet külföldi vagy kettős állampolgár nagybirtokosok szereztek meg. A legnagyobb területet szerző árverési nyertesek listáját a 37 FIDESZ alapító tag egyike és az ő érdekköre vezeti. Ezért bármilyen érdekütközés adódik, egy kisebb országnak úgy érdemes manőverezni velük szemben, hogy a németeknek többe legyen a leves, mint a hús, vagyis ne érje meg nekik érvényesíteni az erőfölényüket. Ne felejtsük el, hogy öt évvel ezelőtt a magyar média meghatározó része még német tulajdonban volt. December 20, 2016  Naples astride a rumbling mega-volcano a study published in the scientific journal Nature Communications shows. Since 2005, Campi Flegrei has been undergoing what scientists call "uplift", causing Italian authorities to raise the alert level in 2012 from green to yellow, signalling the need for active scientific monitoring. It shows signs of "reawakening" and may be nearing a critical pressure point. The pace of ground deformation and low-level seismic activity has recently increased. The Campi Flegrei caldera was formed 39,000 years ago in a blast that threw hundreds of cubic kilometres of lava, rock and debris into the air. It was the largest eruption in Europe in the past 200,000 years, according to scientists. Campi Flegrei last erupted in 1538, though on a much smaller scale. A kiállítás célja, hogy bemutassa a lengyel-magyar közös történelem egy elfelejtett közös fejezetét, amikor Galícia lengyel földjén magyar katonák tízezrei küzdöttek a lengyel nép szabadságáért. Számosan közülük zsidó származásúak voltak, akik a hívó szót meghallva önként vonultak a zászlók alá. A magyar zsidóság a háborús erőfeszítések lelkes támogatója volt, akiknek mély tisztelete az uralkodóház, és a részükre egyenlő jogokat és méltóságot, prosperitást biztosító liberális magyar kormányzat, és általában a haza iránt megkérdőjelezhetetlen volt. An aggressive and creative campaign run by Israeli strategists Klughaft and Shaked helped the Romanian Center-Left Social Democratic (PSD) Party win a landslide victory in last week’s election. The PSD won 45.67% of the vote, compared to 20.4% for its nearest competitor at a time when right-wing parties are sweeping elections in Europe. The campaign for PSD changed the party’s image into a younger, patriotic alternative. Klughaft and Shaked used messages that traditionally come from right-wing parties to improve the image of their party on the Center-Left. Their slogan was “Dare to believe in Romania.” There were also negative ads, saying that backers of other parties do not believe in the country’s future. Klughaft is known for his success as chief strategist for Yehudi but he also worked on a protest of reservists following the 2006 Second Lebanon War that helped bring the Right back to power and a campaign urging the study of math featuring former president Peres. 20 December, 2016  Anti-Western conspiracy theories rife in Turkey following Russian ambassador shooting. The incident is widely seen as an attempt to sour relations between the two countries ahead of two rounds of talks between Moscow, Ankara and Tehran on the future of the Syrian crisis. Mr Putin said he is keen to find out who was “guiding the gunman’s hand” in the attack. Pro-government newspapers in Turkey were quick to point blame in the direction of the US’ Central Intelligence Agency, claiming the envoy’s death was a plot carried out by the US-based Muslim cleric Gulen, whom Turkey says is behind the failed coup in July aimed at toppling Mr Erdogan. Many Turks have taken to social media to posit their own theories, including the idea that US President Obama ordered the assassination as “payback” for Russian meddling in the election, or to prevent its NATO ally from becoming too close too Russia. Some Russian politicians, too, have been speculating about the assassination, claiming it was orchestrated by NATO countries. Killer Altintas, 22, was later shot dead after standing over Karlov’s body claiming it was for those suffering in Aleppo. After Altintas gunned down Karlov showed him chanting: “Do not forget Aleppo! Six senior Indonesian army generals were kidnapped and killed by Indonesian military officials claiming to be from the 30 September Movement. The armed forces, led by General Suharto, began to systematically imprison, torture and kill anyone suspected of having communist ties. Officials within the CIA have admitted to supplying names of communists and providing support for the purges that killed over 400,000 people. "It really was a big help to the army. They probably killed a lot of people, and I probably have a lot of blood on my hands, but that's not all bad. The effort faces the longest of odds, requiring not only initial approval by California voters in 2018 but a subsequent special election in 2019. 16 Dec 2016  The organization partnered with Facebook to help determine whether a certain story is “disputed” is financed by billionaire Soros and a slew of other left-wing funders. The International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) drafted a code of five principles for news websites to accept, and Facebook announced it will work with “third-party fact checking organizations” that are signatories to the code of principles. Facebook says that if the “fact checking organizations” determine that a certain story is fake, it will get flagged as disputed and, according to the Facebook announcement, “there will be a link to the corresponding article explaining why. Stories that have been disputed may also appear lower in News Feed.” IFCN is hosted by the Poynter Institute for Media Studies. A cursory search of the Poynter Institute website finds that Poynter’s IFCN is openly funded by Soros’ Open Society Foundations as well as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Google, and the National Endowment for Democracy. A román Kulturális Minisztérium államtitkárán múlt, hogy az Egyesült Nemzetek Nevelésügyi, Tudományos és Kulturális Szervezetének (UNESCO) Etiópiában ülésező testülete nem vette fel a védett szellemi kulturális örökségek listájára a csíksomlyói búcsút. A csíksomlyói búcsú felterjesztésének vitájakor az értékelő testület hiányolt bizonyos információkat a dossziéból, és kiegészítéseket kért. Olyan adatokról volt azonban szó, amelyek hiányát a minisztérium képviselője az ülésen azonnal tisztázhatta volna. Amikor a hiányolt adatokról kérdezték a román állam képviselőjét, Oprean államtitkár kitérő választ adott, és azt mondta: azt szeretné, ha most nem tárgyalnák a csíksomlyói búcsú felvételét a listára, majd később kiegészítik a dossziét. A román kulturális tárca 2012 márciusában, Kelemen kulturális minisztersége idején terjesztette fel a UNESCO szellemi kulturális örökségi listájára a csíksomlyói búcsút. November 2, 2016  In Accra, Ghana, there was a building that flew an American flag outside every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, 7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Inside hung a photo of President Obama, and signs indicated that you were in the U.S. Embassy in Ghana. However, you were not. This embassy was a sham. It was not operated by the United States government, but by figures from both Ghanaian and Turkish organized crime rings and a Ghanaian attorney practicing immigration and criminal law. The "consular officers" were Turkish citizens who spoke English and Dutch. For about a decade it operated unhindered; the criminals running the operation were able to pay off corrupt officials to look the other way, as well as obtain legitimate blank documents to be doctored. The sham embassy advertised their services through flyers and billboards to cultivate customers from Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire, and Togo. Some of the services the embassy provided for these customers included issuance of fraudulently obtained, legitimate U.S. visas, counterfeit visas, false identification documents (including bank records, education records, birth certificates, and others) for a cost of $6,000. When the task force conducted raids, they arrested several suspects and collected evidence that included a laptop computer; cell smart phones; 150 passports from 10 countries; legitimate and counterfeit visas from the U.S., the Schengen zone, India, and South Africa; and counterfeit identity documents. As a result of this and other raids in “Operation Spartan Vanguard,” the export of fraudulent documents have decreased by 70 percent in West Africa, criminal leaders no longer have the political cover they once had. December 9, 2016  Asia watcher Kenhmann reported on his website Eastpendulum.com that missile tests were expected from the People’s Liberation Army satellite launch facility known as Jiuquan, located in Inner Mongolia, and a second launch complex at Korla, located in Xinjiang, western China. Kenhmann said the flight tests could involve a missile defense interceptor test. After Beijing came under international criticism following a 2007 anti-satellite missile test that left thousands of pieces of floating debris in space, it began conducting its anti-satellite missile program under cover of a missile defense system. The last time China tested a DN-3 anti-satellite missile was Oct. 30, 2015 from the Korla Missile Test Complex. In addition to missiles and lasers, China also is working on small maneuvering satellites that can grab and destroy orbiting satellites. Fisher, a China military affairs specialist, said the DN-3 appears to be based on the Kuaizhou-1 (KZ-1) mobile space launch vehicle. The DN-3 could be capable of hitting satellites more than 18,640 miles away in space - more than enough to reach large U.S. surveillance satellites that occupy orbit 186 to 620 miles from Earth. The anti-satellite weapons programs are believed to be under the PLA’s new Strategic Support Force, a dedicated space warfare and cyber warfare service set up in late 2015. The 64-year-old veteran oil executive has no government or diplomatic experience, although he has been tied to Russian President Putin. Tillerson, of Wichita Falls, Texas, has already notified his corporate board about taking on the new role. Little is known about where he stands on foreign policy, and as secretary of state, he would have to hit the ground running on major issues. Among them: handling the nuclear agreement with Iran that the Obama administration made in 2015; the sanctions imposed on Russia; disputes with China and North Korea; the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Syria; and rebuilding Afghanistan and Iraq. One of ExxonMobil's and Russia's biggest deals fell victim to the sanctions imposed by the Obama administration in reaction to Russia invading Crimea in 2014. That deal to drill in the offshore Arctic Kara Sea oil field would have reportedly been worth $500 billion. 6 December 2016  Tiny specks of cosmic dust which are left over from the formation of our solar system have been discovered on the rooftops of three European cities. Cosmic dust is made up of left over particles that have been around since the formation of our solar system. These particles are tiny, roughly around 0.01 millimetres in size, and have been falling to Earth since it was formed billions of years ago. In the study, which is published in the journal Geology, the team report that the cosmic dust particles that they recovered from rooftops are larger than other particles previously recovered, at around 0.3 millimetres. Based on the particles' size, the researchers' analysis suggests they were formed by melting during atmospheric entry at speeds of around 12 km per second. Dr Genge says this would make them the fastest moving dust particles found on Earth. Cosmic dust particles contain minerals that make them magnetic, so they used magnetism to separate them under the microscope, finding 500 of them in the debris. Kilauea Volcano Hawaii, USA (summit elevation 1247 m): the lava lake continued to circulate, and spatter in Kilauea’s Overlook vent. The lava flow originating from a vent on Pu'u 'O'o Crater's eastern flank continued to enter the ocean near Kamokuna.
Langila volcano, New Britian (Papua New Guinea) (elevation: 1330 m): an ash plume rose to an altitude of 2 km and drifted 55 km north.
Reventador volcano, Ecuador (elevation: 3562 m): high level of seismic activity including explosions, long-period earthquakes, harmonic tremor, emissions. Cloud cover sometimes. Incandescent blocks were observed rolling as far as 1 km down the south-eastern and southern flanks. Gas, water vapor, and ash plumes rose as high as 2 km and drifted north-west.
Sabancaya volcano, Peru (elevation: 5967 m): ash and gas emissions rose as high as 3 km above the crater.
Santa Maria volcano, Guatemala (elevation: 3772 m): explosions from the Santiaguito lava-dome complex generated ash plumes that rose to 800 m above the complex and drifted south-west. Ashfall.
Sinabung volcano, Indonesia (elevation: 2460 m): ash plumes rose to altitudes of 6 km.
Turrialba volcano, Costa Rica (elevation: 3340 m): ash plumes rose as high as 1 km above the active vent. The plumes drifted to the north-east. Ashfall was reported.

In nighttime hours, dependent upon sustained southward Bz occurrences and continued high solar wind speeds, visible auroras in southernmost Australian regions.
SPACE
Total field ranged from 2-9 nT;
between 03 UT and 05 UT the Bz component of the IMF fluctuated between +/-12 nT,  
after which for the latter half of the day it gradually decreased in magnitude between +/-5nT.
Strong solar wind speed continued to increase from 440 km/s and reached a peak of 760 km/s, due to the persistent effect of the recurrent coronal hole high speed stream, indicating continued influence of the negative polarity CH HSS.
Phi angle was oriented in a negative (towards) sector.
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal to high levels.
The geomagnetic field was at active levels for 12 hours, for the rest time unsettled, due to persistent CH HSS activity.

16:15:51 UT: magnitude 5.9 quake occured south of Fiji Islands (depth: 571 km), at a distance of 758 km south-west from Nuku‘alofa, Tonga; 763 km south of Suva, Fiji; 1287 km east of Nouméa, New Caledonia.
Copahue volcano, central Chile-Argentina border (elevation: 2953 m): gas, steam, and ash plumes rose  to altitudes of 3 km and drifted east and north-east.

The solar wind speed decreased slowly from about 520 km/s to 405 km/s.
Total magnetic field strength was at 3 nT to 5 nT.
The Bz component was variable between + 4 nT and - 3 nT.
Phi angle was oriented in a positive sector.
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux at geosynchronous orbit reached high (minor storm) levels with a peak level of 18834 pfu.
The geomagnetic field was quiet.

Three sunspot regions were on the visible disk, and a new region, numbered 2614, emerged.
Solar activity increased to low level;
at 08:01 UT: C1 flare in the vicinity of departed sunspot region 2611 which rounded the northwest limb. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed.
SPACE
The solar wind is moderate; its speeds decreased from about 555 km/s to about 440 km/s, due to continued waning CH HSS influence.
Total magnetic field strength rose from  +5 nT to +7 nT.
Bz was variable: between -4 nT and +3 nT.
Phi angle oriented in a positive sector.
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high (moderate storm) levels with a peak flux of 41607 pfu, due to positive polarity CH HSS influence.
EARTH
The geomagnetic field was quiet to unsettled.
Earth is gradually exiting the high speed stream from the positive coronal hole.
Arctic auroras probably subside.
Australia observation: high-frequency radio communications with some degraded conditions at mid to high latitudes.

Solar activity was very low. There were two sunspot regions on the visible disk. No Earth-directed CMEs.

at 16:25 UT peak flux of 25,265 pfu, due to positive polarity CH HSS influence.
Solar wind speeds declined from near 655 km/s to about 565 km/s.

Phi angle was oriented in a positive sector.

The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels.
Arctic auroras reported.
A ring of bright noctilucent clouds (NLCs) has formed around the South Pole; the sky above Antarctica is glowing electric blue.

at 18:00 UT: peak flux of 2,524 pfu.
Solar wind enhanced, ranged between 625-720 km/s, due to the positive polarity CH HSS.
Total magnetic field strength: 3-5 nT.
The Bz component varied between +/-5 nT.
Phi angle was oriented in a positive sector throughout the period.

The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels.

Solar activity was very low. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed.
SPACE
Enhancement in solar wind speeds from a positive polarity CH HSS.
The at-the-start-of-the-period solar wind speeds from around 530 km/s rapidly increased
around 01:45 UT to between 650-730 km/s.
EARTH
The geomagnetic field was active, and
at 03 UT to 06 UT it was at G2-class (moderate) storm level;
at 06 UT to 09 UT at G1-class (moderate) storm level, due to CH HSS effects.
EARTH
14:24 UT: magnitude 6.6 quake occured (depth:12 km) in China, at a distance of 49 km east-northeast from Karakul, Tajikistan; 169 km west from Kashgar, China; 179 km south-east from Osh, Kyrgyzstan. See also: seismotectonics of the Himalaya and vicinity.
SPACE
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels,
at 18:20 UT with a peak flux of 9,557 pfu.
Throughout the UT day phi angle was oriented in a positive sector.
By the day's end total magnetic field strength decreased from around 11 nT to near 5 nT.
Asteroid '2016 WW2' (size: 7 m) at 0.3 lunar distance (LD).

Solar activity was very low.
There was one sunspot region on the visible disk;
in 2016 this new sunspot, numbered 2612 is one of the largest; it appears to have a relatively stable magnetic field. No Earth directed CMEs.
SPACE
Around 03 UT Phi angle transitioned from the negative to the positive sector.
Geomagnetic conditions at unsettled to minor storm levels;
at the start of the day, flowing from a large coronal hole, the enhanced solar wind's speed started to increase gradually from about 405 km/s;
between 04:30 UT - 05:30 UT solar wind speeds increased and reached a peak of 550 km/s, due to the influence of a large coronal hole with a highly irregular shape, and its positive polarity CH HSS.
Over the day the Bz component of the IMF ranged between - 10 nT to 8 nT;
between 10 UT and 14 UT with a prolonged southward excursion up to -7 -9 nT.
EARTH
Early Thanksgiving morning auroras over Alaska.
Between 12 UT and 15 UT G1-class (minor) geomagnetic storm level of geomagnetic field, which was at active levels for additional 12 hours, as Earth moved through a stream of solar wind (CH HSS effect).
SPACE
Total magnetic field strength gradually increased from 5 nT;
at 15:23 UT reached the peak of 11 nT.
EARTH
18:43 UT: magnitude 7.0 quake occured (depth: 10 km) at a distance of 149 km south-southwest from Puerto El Triunfo, El Salvador. See also: seismotectonics of the Caribbean region and vicinity.
SUN
After 19:00 UT a filament eruption was observed near the limb in the north-western quadrant. Its CME is unlikely to be geoeffective.
EARTH
22:31 UT: magnitude 5.5 quake occured (depth: 40 km) in Komandirskije ostrova region, Russia, at a distance of 391 km east from Esso, Russia; 2158 km north-east from Sapporo-shi, Japan.
Prediction:
until at least November 25-26 arctic auroras are possible.

2016/11/23  

SUN
Solar activity was very low with isolated B-class flare activity. No Earthward directed CMEs observed. Sunspot region, numbered 2612, which emerged on the north-eastern limb, was the only numbered region on the visible disk.
SPACE
Between 00 UT and 03 UT the geomagnetic field was active, due to CH HSS effects.
The solar wind speeds were elevated under the continued influence of a large irregular shape positive polarity coronal hole HSS. The weaker than expected solar wind stream's speed decreased slowly
by 03:00 UT to 00:06 UT from about 525 km/s
for the remainder of the UT day to about 400 km/s.
EARTH
09:59 UT: magnitude 5.7 quake occured (depth: 477 km) at a distance of 217 km west from Chichi-shima, Japan.  See also: seismotectonics of Japan and vicinity
SPACE
Total field ranged between 8 and 2 nT.
The Bz component of the IMF has ranged between -6 nT to 4 nT;
through 18:00 UT Bz was mostly southward (negative),
then became variable.
EARTH

Phi angle was predominately oriented in a positive (away) sector.

2016/11/22

00:19 UT: magnitude 5.9 quake (depth: 10 km) occured at a distance of 77 km east-northeast from Castlepoint, New Zealand. See also: seismotectonics of the Eastern margin of the Australia Plate.
SUN
Solar activity was very low. There were no sunspot groups and no Earth directed CMEs on the visible disk. A large recurrent positive polarity coronal hole has taken geoeffective position, covering more than 1/4th on the solar disk.
SPACE
until 06 UT solar wind speed remained around 320-350 km/s.
The Bz component of the IMF has ranged between +/-8 nT;
at 06 UT starting with a more disturbed period;
at the same time the total field strength increased from 10 nT to 15 nT, most likely associated with the passage of the southern part of the large recurrent coronal hole.
By 12 UT the solar wind speed increased to reach the maximum of about 505 km/s, due to the effect of the recurrent coronal hole high speed stream,
then, for the remainder of the UT day it became variable between 420-510 km/s.
Phi angle was predominately oriented in a positive sector.
At the end of the UT day, due to CH HSS effects, the geomagnetic field was at active levels for 3 hours.

Solar activity was very low. A sunspot was rotating into view over the sun's northeastern limb. Only one, B1-class solar flare occured, from sunspot region number 2610. No Earth-directed CME's were observed.
The southern extension of a northern polar coronal hole crossed the central meridian.
SPACE
The solar wind speed varied between 320 km/s - 350 km/s.
The IMF Bz component varied between +/-8 nT.
The total field ranged from 1 to 10 nT.
Phi angle varied;
during 09 UT - 16 UT it was oriented in a positive (away) sector.
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at moderate to high levels.
The geomagnetic field was quiet to unsettled.

20:59 UT: magnitude 6.9 quake (depth: 11 km) occured at a distance of 37 km east-southeast from Namie, Japan. See also: seismotectonics of Japan and vicininity.
(Update -): Copahue volcano, central Chile-Argentina border (elevation: 2953 m): diffuse steam-and-ash plumes rose to altitudes of 3 km and drifted west-northwest.

Fuego volcano, Guatemala (elevation: 3763 m): lava fountains continued to rise 300 m above the crater rim and avalanches of material descended the Santa Teresa and Taniluyá drainages. Ash plumes rose 1 km and drifted 20 km south, southwest and west, causing ashfall again in Morelia, Santa Sofía, and Panimaché.
Kerinci volcano, Indonesia (elevation: 3800 m): ash plumes rose to altitudes of 4-5 km and drifted south.
Kilauea volcano, Hawaii, USA (elevation: 1222 m): the lava lake rise and fall, circulate, and spatter. The lake level rose as high as 7 m below the Halema’uma’u floor. Incandescence. The lava flow enters the ocean near Kamokuna.

2016/11/11-12:
EARTH
a stream of solar wind flowing from a southern coronal hole is expected to reach our planet, possibly sparking geomagnetic storms and high-latitude auroras when it arrives.

2016/11/10

Prediction from 09 November:
EARTH
active to moderate storm conditions are possible due to the expected arrival of the negative coronal hole high speed stream.
SUN
Solar flare activity was very low, with isolated background flare activity. No C flares or Earth-directed CMEs were observed on the visible disc, where only one active region existed and showed growth.  
SPACE
Through the day total field varied between 10 and 14 nT.
Until  06:00 UT the Bz component of the IMF was oriented northward,
then rotated southward, reaching a maximum of -12 nT.
EARTH:
12:24 UT: magnitude 5.8 quake occured in Western Indian-Antarctic ridge region (depth: 10 km), at a distance of 3256 km south-west from Canberra, Australia; 4685 km south-west from Wellington, New Zealand; 4718 km south from Dili, Timor-Leste.
SPACE
Between 15 UT - 18 UT the geomagnetic field was with an isolated active period,
in the rest of the day was quiet to unsettled.
At 15:10 UT - with a peak flux of 1,032 pfu - the greater than 2 MeV electron flux briefly reached high levels,
after returned to normal to moderate levels.
After 16:00 UT the Bz component was variable.
Phi angle was positive (away);
at 16:30 UT a negative orientation was observed.
After 16:30 UT in the rest of the day solar wind speed has shown a gradual rise from about 335 km/s to 440/495 km/s.
EARTH
17:35 UT: magnitude 5.6 quake occured (depth: 546 km)  at a distance of 57 km east-northeast from Ndoi Island, Fiji; 322 km west-northwest from Haveluloto, Tonga. See also: seismotectonics of the Eastern margin of the Australia Plate.
(Update -): Copahue volcano central Chile-Argentina border (elevation: 2953 m):  gas, steam, and ash plumes rose to altitudes of 3 km and drifted east and south-east.
Dukono volcano, Halmahera, Indonesia (elevation: 1229 m): ash plumes rose to altitudes of 3-4 km and drifted east, south-east.
Kilauea Volcano Hawaii, USA (summit elevation 1247 m): the lava lake continued to rise and fall, circulate, and spatter.
Reventador volcano, Ecuador (elevation: 3562 m): high level of seismic activity, including explosions, long-period earthquakes, harmonic tremor, and signals indicating emissions. Incandescent blocks were observed rolling as far as 1 km down the east, south-east, and south flanks. Gas, water vapor, and ash plumes rose as high as 2 km and drifted west.
Tengger caldera volcano Eastern Java, Indonesia (elevation: 2329 m): ash plumes from Bromo cone rose to an altitude of 3 km and drifted north-west, east.
Turrialba volcano, Costa Rica (elevation: 3340 m): ash plumes rose as high as 1 km above active vent and were drifted in variable directions, particularly to the west, north-east. Ashfall was reported in many areas of the Valle Central. (- updated)

2016/11/09

SUN
Solar activity was very low. The only one, new region, numbered 2607, was inactive.
From 01:36 UT onwards a southern coronal hole has opened - a filament eruption occurred - and a CME was observed, directed to the north-northeast; a stream of solar wind is spewing toward Earth.
Prediction:
EARTH
On November 10 and 11 active to moderate storm conditions are possible due to the expected arrival of the negative coronal hole high speed stream.
SPACE
hours later than expected was arriving a weak CME and solar wind brushed past Earth's magnetic field.
The phi angle was variable.
At 05:43 UT the total IMF strength was at 2 to 4 nT, and - probably due to the arrival of the November 5 CME - a small shock was observed; the solar wind speed increased from 300 km/s to 330 km/s,
while the magnitude of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field jumped from about 4nT to 7nT,
until about 05:43 UT, when increased to 7 to 9 nT as the anticipated transient may have arrived,
and the proton density jumped from about 12 to 25 particles per cc.
EARTH
As Earth passed through the CME's magnetized wake, auroras were possible from southernmost Australian regions or appeared in northern latitudes.
SPACE
to 07:00 UT the Bz component of the IMF has ranged between +7 / -7nT; it was primarily northward
until after 07:00 UT when it turned prolonged southward;
after 10:30 UT through nearly 12:30 UT total field strength decreased unsteadily and
at about 14:50 UT it was primarily northward again.
EARTH
14:50 UT a magnitude 5.9 quake occured in Papua New Guinea (depth: 454 km) at a distance of 96 km north-northwest from Kimbe. Se also: seismotectonics of the New Guinea region and vicinity.
Space
Between 16 UT - 19 UT the Bz component was again with notable sustained southward excursions;
until about 20:10 UT the total field strength decreased,
when another enhancement occurred, which reached 11 nT and
solar wind speed increased slightly from about 300 to 360 km/s.
The geomagnetic field was quiet to unsettled.

Copahue volcano central Chile-Argentina border (elevation: 2953 m): gas, steam, and ash plumes rose to altitudes of 3 km and drifted south-east, east.
Dukono volcano, Halmahera, Indonesia (elevation: 1229 m): ash plumes rose to altitudes of 2-3 km and drifted north, north-east.
Kilauea Volcano Hawaii, USA (summit elevation 1247 m): the lava lake continued to rise and fall, circulate, and spatter.
Reventador volcano, Ecuador (elevation: 3562 m): high level of seismic activity, including explosions, long-period earthquakes, harmonic tremor, and signals indicating emissions. Incandescent blocks were rolling as far as 1 km down the east flanks.
Sabancaya volcano, Peru (elevation: 5967 m): ash plumes rose as high as 3 km and drifted 30-35 km south-east, east and north-east, producing ashfall in the villages of Valle del Colca to the north-east.
Santa Maria volcano, Guatemala (elevation: 3772 m): a 15 m wide, 1 m deep lahar triggered by rainfall descended the Cabello de Ángel drainage carrying tree trunks and blocks up to 1 m in diameter. The lahar had a minor sulfur odor.
Turrialba volcano, Costa Rica (elevation: 3340 m): ash plumes rose as high as 1 km above active vent and were drifted in variable directions, particularly to the south-west, west. (- updated)

SUN
Solar activity was very low. No spotted regions or Earth-directed CMEs were observed.
EARTH:
00:58 UT: a magnitede 5.5 quake occured in eastern New Guinea region (depth: 60 km), at a distance of 410 km north of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
03:09 UT: a magnitude 5.8 quake occured west of Maquarie Island, Australia (depth: 10 km) at a distance of 2641 km south-west from Wellington, New Zealand and 4242 km south from Nouméa, New Caledonia.
04:55 UT: a magnitude 6.0 earthquake occured in offshore Bio-Bio, Chile (depth: 20 km) at a distance of    425 km south-west from Santiago.
SPACE
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels  with a peak level of 2098 pfu.
Total IMF strength ranged between 1-6 nT.
Bz component remained between +4 - -4 nT, predominately positive,
between 07 UT-11 UT with a sustained southward period.
at 16 UT solar wind speeds declined to 275km/s; through the period were between 310 km/s - 275 km/s.
Phi angle was predominantly in a negative orientation with brief oscillations into a positive sector.
The geomagnetic field was quiet. Arrival of the CME predicted in 05 November disappearing solar filament delayed.
Prediction:
on November 11-12 a stream of solar wind flowing from a southern coronal hole is expected to reach our planet, possibly sparking geomagnetic storms and high-latitude auroras when it arrives.

Copahue volcano, central Chile - Argentina border (elevation: 2953 m): gas and water vapor plumes with minor ash content rose to altitudes 4 km and drifted north-east.
Dukono volcano, Halmahera, Indonesia (elevation: 1229 m): ash plumes rose to an altitude of 2 km and drifted north-west.
Kīlauea Volcano Hawaii, USA (summit elevation 1247 m): the summit lava lake surface dropped over the past day and was measured at about 19 m below the floor of Halemaʻumaʻu Crater. Incandescence; lava flow enters the ocean near Kamokuna.
Popocatepetl volcano, Mexico (elevation: 5426 m): steam, gas, ash emissions, crater incandescence visible nightly.
Sabancaya volcano, Peru (elevation: 5967 m): gas and water-vapor plumes with minor amounts of ash rose to a maximum height of 2 km above the summit. Ash dispersing within a 5-km radius.
In evening three explosions of Ubinas volcano, Peru (elevation: 5672 m) generated an ash plume which rose 1.5 km above the crater rim and drifted east.
(Prediction from 05 November 2016):
on 08 November the CME arrival at Earth may cause a geomagnetic storm; aurora is likely to be observed at high latitudes.

2016/11/07

SUN
Solar activity was very low.  Regions 2605 and  2606 underwent eventual decay,
following a brief stint of minor growth to both regions. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed.
SPACE
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels.
Total field strength was between 2-6 nT.
Phi angle was predominantly oriented in a positive (away) sector and
about 06:45 UT to 15:00 UT a solar sector boundary change (SSBC) from + to to a negative (towards) sector was observed with slight enhancement of the magnitude of the IMF.
Prior to SSBC, the, Bz component of the IMF was generally southward around -1 to -3 nT
then remained northward through the end of the period, fluctuated between -3 and +5 nT.
Solar wind speeds were between 290 - 330 km/s.
The geomagnetic field was quiet.
EARTH
21:31 UT: magnitude 5.6 earthquake occured in Inddonesia at a distance of 172 km South-Southwest from Cicadas  (depth : 10 km). See also: seismotectonics of the Sumatra region.

Solar activity was very low. On the visible disk region 2605 underwent decay, region 2606 was stable. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed.
SPACE.
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached minor storm levels at geosynchronous orbit with a peak  flux of 3,160 pfu,
at 01:30 UT.
EARTH
at 01:55 UT. Suwajosejima volcano, Japan (elevation: 796 m) erupted
SPACE
Early in the period Bz component of the IMF briefly reached -5 nT,
later was between -5/+3 nT.
Total interplanetary magnetic field strength values were from 2 to 5 nT.
Solar wind speeds were between 295-330 km/s.
Phi angle was predominantly oriented in a positive (away) sector.
The geomagnetic field was quiet.
EARTH
Dukono volcano, Halmahera, Indonesia (elevation: 1229 m): ash plumes rose to an altitude of 2 km and drifted north and north-west.
Kilauea volcano, Hawaii, USA (elevation: 1222 m): the lava lake fluctuated; incandescence. Lava flow continued to enter the Pacific ocean near Kamokuna.
Popocatepetl volcano, Mexico (elevation: 5426 m): steam, gas, ash emissions, crater incandescence visible nightly.
Sabancaya volcano, Peru (elevation: 5967 m): ash-bearing explosions began. Ash plumes rose 1.5 km above the crater rim and drifted east.
Sinabung volcano, Indonesia (elevation: 2460 m): an ash plume rose to an altitude of 4 km and drifted east.

2016/11/05

SUN
Solar activity was very low. There was 2 stable active regions on the visible disk, without any produced flares. A filament eruption and an associated CME - halo or partial-halo CME - was observed in the northwest quadrant on the Sun with a peak at
04:52 UT.
SPACE
Prediction: The CME associated with the filament eruption is likely to become geoeffective; its arrival is suggested early on 08 November.  Minor up to moderate geomagnetic storms are possible.
The solar wind speed decreased to about 320 km/s. The total Interplanetary Magnetic Field strength (IMF Bt) values fluctuated between 2-5 nT. The Bz component of the IMF varied  between -2/+2 nT and was predominately positive (generally northward).  The phi angle was in a positive (away) solar sector orientation.
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux at geosynchronous orbit reached minor storm levels; 
at 16:15 UT a peak flux of 3,750 pfu.
The geomagnetic field was quiet.
EARTH
(Prediction): The CME arrival is likely at Earth on 08 November may cause a geomagnetic storm; aurora  to be observed at high latitudes.
Copahue volcano, Argentina-Chile border (summit elevation: 2997 m). Continuous emission of steam, gases near the summit. Gas and water vapor plumes with minor ash content rose to altitudes of 3-4 km and drifted east and north-east.
Dukono volcano, Halmahera, Indonesia (elevation: 1229 m): ash plumes rose to an altitude of 2 km and drifted north-east, north.
Kilauea volcano, Hawaii, USA (elevation: 1222 m): the lava lake fluctuated; incandescence. Lava flow from a vent on Pu'u 'O'o Crater's eastern flank continued to enter the ocean near Kamokuna.
Popocatepetl volcano, Mexico (elevation: 5426 m): steam, gas, ash emissions, crater incandescence visible nightly.
