Oct 17, 2024 2:48 AM ED The Pentagon is stating that B-2 Spirit stealth bombers, along with other U.S. forces, conducted a strike on Houthi underground weapon storage sites in Yemen. It could have involved the combat debut of the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP). The MOP, weighing in around 30,000lbs, can only be carried by the B-2. It is specifically designed and has been repeatedly upgraded to go after deeply buried, high-value targets, especially those in Iran. These sites include command and control centers and missile storage and launch facilities, as well as aircraft storage areas, tunneled into mountains. 'But above all else, the MOP’s top targets would be extremely hardened sites related to Iran’s nuclear program'. White House Correspondents’ Association award winner, Ravid, CNN producer Peled and New York Times producer Schwartz are all alumni of Israel’s Unit 8200 – a covert ops, spying and cyber-warfare unit – and now have prominent media positions. Unit 8200 has also been widely identified as the group behind last month’s pager attack in Lebanon that injured thousands of civilians. 'While I’m not saying these individuals are spies, are people with these pasts truly appropriate candidates to write Americans’ news about Israel/Palestine? What if it were ex-Hamas/Hezbollah intelligence operatives now running things at CNN or elsewhere?' MintPress writer, Macleod asked on X. Former Unit 8200 agents created the Pegasus software used to surveil journalists, activists and heads of state around the world.
