Lengyelország
2016. VIII. 4.  Ferenc pápa a lengyel püspökökkel beszélget. A modern világ krisztustalanodása, szekularizálódása erős. A középpontban a pénz áll.

2016. VIII. 4. Towards Eurasian Linguistic Isoglosses: The Case of Turkic and Hungarian/ Marácz. Innen kezdve a vándorlásuk a Kárpát-medencébe más történelmi forrásokból jól körülrajzolható. A gyöknyelvészetet a hivatalos irányadók (Hunfalvy Pál és Budenz József) elítélték mint provinciális irányzatot és adminisztratív eszközökkel kegyetlenül felléptek a követők ellen. Turkey
August 10, 2016  Story of secret diplomacy that ended Russia-Turkey jet crisis. Turkish President Erdoğan departs for Russia on Aug. 9 to meet with Russian President Putin in St. Petersburg in his first trip abroad since the failed coup attempt of July 15. It will also be Erdoğan’s first visit to Russia after the crisis that began with the downing of a Russian Su-24 jet by Turkish F-16s after they violated the border with Syria on Nov. 24, 2015; two Russian air force pilots died as a result of the incident. The crisis in the political sphere had implications in the economic arena as well as Turkey’s tourism industry suffered a major blow that came in addition to suicide bomb attacks by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the islamic state of Iraq and levant isil). Turkish food exports to Russia also dipped. But the crisis was ultimately ended, opening the way for normalization, which enabled the Aug.9 visit following a statement from the Kremlin on June 27. Putin called Erdoğan out of solidarity before all NATO member countries’ heads following the July 15 coup attempt. And Erdoğan thanked the president of Kazakhstan, Nazarbayev – who was the first president to show solidarity after the coup attempt – for his support in solving the crisis with Russia during a press conference on Aug. 5 in Ankara. According to Kalın, the spokesman for Erdoğan, businessman “Çağlar played a very important role” in solving the crisis, as well as “Nazarbayev, who showed great friendship to Turkey” and “the patriotic initiative taken by Gen. Akar, the Chief of General Staff” despite the area being out of his responsibility. The secret diplomacy ending the Turkish-Russian crisis unfolded as follows: Late April, Akar told Erdoğan that there might be a channel that could be used to solve the crisis. He told Erdoğan that Çağlar, a textile investor, had business in the Russian Federal Republic of Dagestan. Çağlar used to be in politics in the 1990s, serving as a minister of state in Demirel’s cabinets and knew the Dagestani president, Abdulatipov, well from those times. Abdulatipov had access to Putin through his chief adviser, Ushakov. When Çağlar was a minister, Akar was the chief of the cabinet for the then-chief of General Staff, and they had known each other well since then. Çağlar had been beneficial to the state as a minister and then as a businessman before, Akar told Erdoğan. He was the channel between Ankara and Aliyev of Azerbaijan in Nakhchevan and in Baku in the mid-1990s and it was he who gave his private jet to the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) team to fly to Kenya in 1999 to arrest PKK leader Öcalan in a joint operation with the CIA. Akar told Erdoğan in a meeting where Kalın was present that Çağlar had financial problems in 2000s and faced court for that but was reliable in state operations. After meeting with Çağlar and Akar in Istanbul on April 30, Erdoğan gave the green light for the operation. On June 22, Kazakhstan Ambassador to Ankara Tuimebayev called up Kalın with an “urgent” note. Nazarbayev had met with Putin in St. Petersburg and said that if Erdoğan was ready to send the letter, Putin was ready to accept it. In June 24 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan a plane carrying Kalın and Çağlar landed. The Turks only then learned that Putin and his delegation was there. After taking the letter to Putin, Ushakov returned to the Turkish delegation soon and said Putin approved it. Kalın and Ushakov agreed that the statement was to be made on June 27 in Moscow after Ankara saw the message in advance. The Russians kept their promise. The statement was made on time. It was right after a statement made on June 26 to say that the final talks in Rome for the normalization of relations with Israel were successfully finalized by Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Sinirlioğlu. Little did Turkey know that there was going to be a military coup attempt in just two weeks’ time on July 15. (Source: HurriyetDailyNews): http://tinyurl.com/zfyzha4

August 8, 2015  Erdogan allies accuse leading Washington think tank blaming Barkey, the director of the Wilson Center’s Middle East program of orchestrating coup. The Woodrow Wilson Center, a nonpartisan organization founded in 1968, is facing a wave of criticisms over its alleged — and wholly unproven — role in orchestrating last month’s failed putsch, which killed more than 200 people and injured more than 1,000. Erdogan retained power and has spent the past weeks carrying out purges of institutions across Turkish society. The think tank take the unusual step of issuing a statement of concern about “possible reprisals” to researchers and scholars that attended the July conference in Turkey organized by the think tank on the island of Buyukada in Istanbul, in July 15-17, the exact same weekend as the coup attempt. A front-page story in the pro-government newspaper Aksam accused them of being CIA agents who helped orchestrate the coup. Akgun, a director at the Global Political Trends Center which joined the Wilson Center in organizing the event, was interrogated by Turkish authorities in recent days. The pro-government Yeni Safak newspaper also accused the CIA and Gen. Campbell, a former NATO commander in Afghanistan, of trying to overthrow Erdogan. August 5, 2016  The Turkish cleric's decades-long plan to use schools to acquire political power and cultural influence in its home country has ended in shambles. Turkey’s newly declared state of emergency has armed the government with the powers to purge Gulenists across all state institutions: More than 10,000 military personnel, including 151 generals and admirals, as well as about 3,000 police have been arrested or are now in custody, pending investigation. But the chemotherapy appears to be focusing on education. Of the 67,000 people suspended in the first 10 days of the state of emergency, at least 42,700 are from the Ministry of National Education. By decree, 1,043 private schools have been closed and expropriated, and 15 universities and 109 student dormitories have been closed. All of the country’s 1,577 university deans have been asked to resign, though many presumably will be allowed back once their records are cleared. Meanwhile, Education Minister Yilmaz has announced that the government will hire more than 20,000 new teachers this year to make up for the loss. On Turkey’s political spectrum, the Gulenists were clearly political Islamists. Gulenist students were known to be pious, hard-working, punctual, and accomplished in math and the hard sciences. This made them excellent candidates for jobs in the government’s technical departments, such as the treasury and central bank, and allowed them to rise up fast in other institutions, like the police. By 1992, the movement had enough experienced teachers to found its first schools abroad, in the newly independent Central Asian republics. Today, the movement boasts more than 2,000 schools in 160 different countries. These schools became known for their emphasis on mathematics and the natural sciences. Education is not necessarily Islamic, but the quality is so high that they have become places where the elite send their kids to be disciplined — and where poor, bright children are given scholarships and a chance at success. Turkish politicians began to support these schools as beacons of Turkey’s growing “soft power” in the region. The mildly Islamist Justice and Development Party (AKP) that rose to power in 2002 became its first true ally. For more than a decade under AKP rule, Gulenist educational institutions thrived.  The group’s reach into the bureaucracy also rose to unprecedented heights. Gulenists were especially strong in the police and judiciary and used those arms of the state to libel and imprison those who opposed their network. By the early 2010s, the Gulenist influence began to worry the AKP government. When Erdogan finally moved against the Gulenists, he tried to hit them where it hurt — by targeting their influence over educational institutions. In 2013, he proposed closing down all private cram schools in the country, thus cutting off the Gulenists’ primary source of human capital. Government officials were compiling a list of Gulenists in various sectors, including education, long before the attempted coup. The critical question at this stage is to what extent the government will abuse its state-of-emergency mandate and start to purge non-Gulenists. There is a real risk that the government will indeed go too far. (Source: ForeignPolicy): http://tinyurl.com/htunvhx

Egyesült Államok    United States
2016. VIII. 10. A 246 halálos áldozatot követelő puccskísérlet után tömeges tisztogatások kezdődtek a török hadseregnél; a katonai tábornoki kar tagjainak csaknem harmadát vették őrizetbe. August 10, 2016  Alleged medical records from Mrs. Clinton’s physician Dr. Bardack show Hillary the most sick and unfit presidential candidate in history. On  August 8, Hal Turner Show published a bombshell on Mrs. Clinton’s medical records straight from her personal physician, Dr. Bardack. According to Dr. Bardack, Hillary has a form of dementia called Subcortical Vascular Dementia. The paper says ‘the blacking out, uncontrollable twitching and memory loss have become worse’. The doctor also gave diagnoses of Complex Partial Seizures and Subcortical Vascular Dementia. Bardack, M.D. is the Director of Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is the recipient of award Best Doctors in America, 2011-2016. According to the National institutes of Health (NIH): Subcortical Vascular Dementia “is a progressive disease; there is no cure.” Other symptoms include forgetfulness (but not as severe as the forgetfulness of Alzheimer’s disease), changes in speech, an unsteady gait, clumsiness or frequent falls, changes in personality or mood (most likely in the form of apathy, irritability, and depression), and urinary symptoms that aren’t caused by urological disease. According to WebMD Complex partial seizures occur in children and adults with certain forms of epilepsy. They are the most common type of seizure in adults. The seizure changes the person’s level of consciousness. The person may appear awake but cannot respond to anything or anyone around him or her. The person usually stares into space. The seizure may include involuntary movements called automatisms, such as lip-smacking, chewing, hand wringing, picking, and swallowing. The seizure lasts 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Hillary had a concussion in early December of 2012 while she was Secretary of State. (70News): http://tinyurl.com/hjhve8y

Aug. 10, 2016  Trump calls Obama ‘Founder of isis’ and says it honors him. He added: “I would say the co-founder would be crooked Clinton. He had previously accused only Mrs. Clinton of having a “founding” role in the terror group. His suggestion that the president was honored by isis recalled an earlier controversy when Mr. Trump seemingly implied that the president had some connection to the terrorist massacre of 49 people at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando. 10 August, 2016  The Obama Administration’s ongoing effort to admit tens of thousands of refugees from Syria and other hotbeds of terrorism endangers the safety of the United States and has already had dire domestic consequences, Sen. Sessions (R-AL), the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest warns. He highlights 20 ‘vetted’ terrorist refugees as Obama ramps up admissions from terror hot-spots. As of August 9, 2016 the administration has already admitted 61,232 refugees this fiscal year, including 8,114 from Syria, 7,322 from Iraq, 7,067 from Somalia, 2,838 from Iran, and 1,924 from Afghanistan. Aug. 9, 2016. In July 8, 2016  Wikileaks offered a $20,000 reward for information on the murder of DNC staffer Rich. Assange suggested on Dutch television program Nieuwsuur that Rich was a Wikileaks informant, the source for the Wikileaks-exposed DNC emails. Shortly after the killing, Redditors and social media users were pursuing a “lead” saying that Rich was en route to the FBI the morning of his murder, apparently intending to speak to special agents about an “ongoing court case” possibly involving the Clinton family. August 9, 2016  Fifteen years after invading Afghanistan in pursuit of the 9/11 attackers, the U.S. is bombing a half-dozen more - seven - countries. The loose network of al-Qaeda-linked groups includes between 75,000 to 91,000 fighters, and that’s just in the seven countries where the U.S. has launched attacks against them. The latest changes to the Obama administration’s “targeted killing” program became public last week when the White House released updated guidance—known formally as Presidential Policy Guidance, and informally as “the Playbook”.*     The documents’ release came in response to a court order in a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union, whose Deputy Legal Director Jaffer called it “a timely reminder of the breadth of  the powers that will soon be in the hands of another president.” The U.S. admitted in July that nearly 2,600 people had been killed in 473 strikes from January 2009 through the end of 2015. The DNI report also stated that as few as 64 and as many as 116 of those killed were civilians, an estimate far lower than those documented by groups like the Bureau of Investigative Journalism and the open-source investigators at Airwars—both of whom put the number of civilians killed in U.S. airstrikes in its sprawling war on al-Qaeda at well over 1,000. But for all the changes, the war is still being waged under the same 2001 authorization - Public Law 107-40 (signed Sept. 18, 2001). Where is AQ today? Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Burma, Djibouti, Ethiopia, France, India, Kashmir, Kenya, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Syria, Tunisia, United States, Yemen. Where is isis today? Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the North Caucasus. Beyond this, the terror group has waged attacks in Turkey, Lebanon, France, Belgium, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Tunisia, and Kuwait.     Afghanistan: The White House directed a May 2016 airstrike that killed former Taliban leader Mullah Mansour inside Pakistan. This signaled that crossing the Afghan border would no longer keep the Taliban safe from U.S. military drone strikes, to say nothing of CIA action. Today, the Afghanistan Taliban are believed to number up to 25,000 people. The Islamic State group, via its Khorasan affiliate, are believed to have close to 1,000 people in the country, though officials said in April that could be as high as 3,000. There’s also the al-Qaeda-linked Pakistan-based Sunni militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba and the Haqqani network, both plaguing Kabul’s long war. Altogether, both groups total probably less than 5,000—but that estimate is from 2012.     Yemen: In 2009 the Obama administration began what turned out to be more than 230 drone strikes over the next seven years on fighters from the Arabian Peninsula branch of al-Qaeda (formed in 2007 when al-Qaeda Yemen merged with al-Qaeda Saudi Arabia). AQAP is believed to have between 1,000 to 3,000 fighters, according to estimates from 2014. isis also claims a presence in Yemen, though recent estimates put their ranks in the low hundreds.     Iraq: After the 2003 invasion of Iraq Al-Qaeda effectively launched its Iraq affiliate when its leader at the time, Zarqawi, pledged allegiance to bin Laden on October 17, 2004. Over more than a half-decade of bloody resistance, the group was decimated by targeted raids driven by American intelligence in Iraq. But in the months after the U.S. withdrew from the country in 2011, al-Qaeda’s Iraq branch re-emerged and later broke with al-Qaeda to form the Islamic State group in 2014. ISIS is believed to have anywhere from 19,000 to 26,000 fighters, according to the most recent U.S. government estimate.     Somalia: Raid involving special operations troops on January 7, 2007. The first drone strike was carried out in June 23, 2011. More than two dozen suspected drone strikes would hit regions inside Somalia over the next five years - including one strike in early September 2014 that killed Godane, the leader of the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shebab militants. In 2015, Shebab was believed to have between 7,000 and 9,000 fighters.     Libya: The power vacuum left in Libya after the 2011 Arab Spring uprising and the death of dictator Col. Gaddafi allowed al-Qaeda-aligned fighters to flourish in lawless Libya. In October 2013  special operators snagged Libi, known for playing a part in the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, from the streets of Tripoli. The U.S. carried out airstrikes against ISIS-aligned fighters in Libya in November 2015 in an operation believed to have killed the group’s Libyan chief, Nabil. The Obama administration would also strike isis targets in Libya the following February, possibly killing more than three-dozen fighters. August 1, 2016: Obama formally authorized a new campaign of airstrikes against isis in Libya under the banner of assisting forces from the newly-formed Government of National Accord. A variety of isis- or al-Qaeda-affiliated groups remain in Libya, including fighters from the Ansar al-Sharia (numbering as many as 5,000 in 2014) and al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb  (estimated to number as many as 1,000 in 2016). is’ strength in Libya could be as few as several hundred, or as many as 7,000.      Syria: The U.S. Navy lobbed the first American strikes against al-Qaeda in Syria on September 22, 2014, when it fired 47 Tomahawk cruise missiles on allegedly elite fighters from the Khorasan Group in northwestern Idlib governorate. Since then, the U.S. military has targeted fighters from al-Qaeda’s Nusra Front in Syria, as well as isis fighters. isis was estimated at as many as 26,000, Nusra is believed to have had as many as 10,000 in 2015 (15,000 in 2013, before the rise of isis). Estimates of fighters per group:     Taliban: 25,000;     IS-Khorasan: 1,000 to 3,000;     Lashkar-e-Taiba/Haqqani: nearly 5,000;     AQAP: 1,000 to 3,000;     IS-Yemen: nearly 200; ISIS: 19,000 to 25,000;     Shebab: 7,000 to 9,000;     Nusra: 10,000;     Ansar al-Sharia: 5,000;     AQIM: 1,000;     is-Libya: 1,000 to 7,000.     Total: 75,200 to 91,200. August 09 2016  Churches take new security measures in face of terror threats. In February, Rayyan, 21, of Dearborn Heights, Mich., was arrested after he told an undercover FBI agent he was preparing to "shoot up" a major church near his home on behalf of isis. A month earlier, the Rev. Spradlin of Valley Baptist Church – one of the biggest congregations in Bakersfield, Calif. – told attendees that they had received a threat written in Arabic. Last September, an Islamic man clad in combat gear was charged with making a terrorist threat after entering Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, in Bullard, Tex., and claiming that God had instructed him to kill Christians and "other infidels."  A year earlier, police were called to Saint Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Columbus, Ind., after the house of worship was vandalized with the word "Infidels!" along with a Koranic verse sanctioning death for nonbelievers. Similar graffiti was found that same night at nearby Lakeview Church of Christ and East Columbus Christian Church. Synagogues have faced increasing threats in recent years, too. Earlier this year, the FBI disrupted a plot by a Muslim convert to blow up the Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center, in Aventura, Fla. A 2014 audit by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) found that anti-Semitic incidents rose 21 percent across the country that year. Eastern Orthodox Christians, who in many cases suffered persecution at the hands of radical Muslims in their Middle Eastern homelands, believe they may be singled out because of their heritage. Mass at St. Andrew typically attracts up to 400 worshippers with roots in Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Russia and Greece. In San Diego's Iraqi-Christian community, known as Chaldeans, many local churches have had to dip into their collection baskets to hire security. (Source: FoxNews): http://tinyurl.com/jdmllns

Space
08 08 16 Moscow reportedly plans to launch three of the new Hrazdan satellites—one each in 2019, 2022, and 2024. Essentially orbital telescopes that point down toward Earth, the Hrazdans will replace Russia’s two existing Persona spy satellites. Spy satellites, including the Personas, have played a central role in the Russian intervention in Syria, helping to spot targets for Russian bombers and cruise missiles. The Hrazdans boast lenses are with a diameter greater than two meters. The Personas maintain circular orbits around Earth at an altitude of 700 kilometers. At that altitude, the older sats’ lenses afford them a 31-centimeter resolution. The Hrazdan's resolution could go as high as 24 centimeters. The U.S. National Reconnaissance Office, which operates America’s main spy satellites on behalf of the military and intelligence communities, can get resolutions as high as seven centimeters from its KH-11 Keyhole spy satellites, whose 2.4-meter-diameter lenses formed the basis of NASA’s famous Hubble telescope. The KH-11s traditionally maintain elliptical orbits that dip as low as 260 kilometers and climb as high as 1,000 kilometers. It’s only at the low point that the U.S. sats’ can peer down with seven-centimeter resolution. There are apparently four of the spy sats in operation. (Source: TheDailyBeast)
